Location
The town of Newhaven is ideally situated on the South coast of England and surrounded by the South Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Best known for its ferry link with Dieppe in France. The harbour is right in the middle of the town, overlooked by residential housing on the hilly sides of the river valley on either side. Residents and visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of cliffs, Downs, river and sea. There are several places of interest in the town where one can spend a lovely day out. The Newhaven Fort originally built in the 19th century, to protect against French invasion, still stands today as a military monument. The Paradise Park in another great day out with its delightful gardens and small lakes. It also has many exhibits including a unique collection of fossils.
Newhaven also is conveniently located right in the middle of two bustling English cities, Brighton and Eastbourne.
Brighton is one of the most exciting and extraordinary English cities. It a very cosmopolitan seaside city and has much to offer including hundreds of restaurants, a buzzing nightlife, and enough culture to delight even the greatest of critics. It is truly one of the loveliest and liveliest cities in the U.K.
HOW TO FIND US
By Air:
Arrival at London Heathrow: Take the express train to Paddington, and Underground to Victoria Mainline station. Take the train to Newhaven Town via Lewes. Arrival at London Gatwick: Take the train to Newhaven Town via Lewes.
By Rail:
Take the train from London Victoria Mainline station to Newhaven Town via Lewes.
By Road:
M25 to M23 (Gatwick Airport). M23 South to A23. A23 South towards Brighton. Join the A27 in the direction of Lewes and Newhaven. Bypass Lewes on the A27 and proceed in Eastbourne direction. Cross the railway at Beddingham on the A27 and turn right onto the A26 to Newhaven approx. 300 metres after the railway crossing. Follow the A26 into Newhaven and you will enter the Industrial Area via the Z Bend. Turn left into Avis Way.
